About Us

With the price of hockey equipment continuing to rise, more families are discouraged from trying the beautiful sport of hockey. Yet, so many existing players have a variety of quality, usable equipment laying around. Whether it may be a result of a sudden growth spurt, or a change in teams, many hockey players have a surplus of second-hand hockey equipment that could pave the path for new players. At Puck it Forward, our goal is to collect usable second hand equipment and make it accessible for the families and players in need of the gear.

The Story Behind Puck it Forward

Our Mission

Our Story

Puck it Forward was founded by a group of passionate hockey players who understand firsthand the financial challenges associated with the sport. Growing up, many of the founders were only able to start playing hockey thanks to donations from close family friends. While their families could afford the basics, the high cost of equipment made it difficult to justify such a significant investment, especially when it was uncertain whether hockey would become a long-term passion. Inspired by their own experiences, the founders of Puck it Forward are committed to giving back to the hockey community by establishing a reputable initiative that provides free equipment to those in need. Just as second-hand gear opened doors for them, they aim to bring the joy of hockey to thousands more by making the sport accessible to everyone

Our Vision

Our vision is a world where every aspiring hockey player, regardless of financial circumstance, has the opportunity to experience the thrill and camaraderie of the sport. We strive to eliminate the financial barriers that prevent young athletes from participating by providing second-hand hockey equipment to those in need. We envision a future where hockey is accessible to all, where no child is left on the sidelines due to cost, and where the generosity of others paves the way for the next generation of players.
